Some of Equine Farm's services are the following:
• Little Bits and camps. This is a program for children ages 4 – 6. Kids learn about horses and can take lessons on a pony that is attached to a lunge line for safety.
• Riding School.  This is a program for ages 6 – adult. They even have people in their 70’s in riding programs. Equest has horses for all student abilities. The farm uses the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Department’s horses and school horses for lessons. An assessment lesson is given to determine the student’s ability level in walking, trotting, cantering, and jumping. Sean Steffe, a Class Jumper in Grand Prix jumping, is in charge of jumping classes. In addition, the Tulane University Equestrian team is based here, use the school's horses, and also teach young beginning riders.
• Horse shows.
• Boarding.
Individuals and families board their horses here. The New Orleans Sheriff's Dept. owns their part of the barn. The farm offers many amenities. In addition, Budweiser stables the horses that participate in Mardi Gras. Budweiser may host a public event here during  Mardi Gras 2010
• Field trips and parties. Groups of children can attend a student tour for a fee of $15 per child. Small groups will receive lessons on grooming and feeding and sometimes be offered riding lessons.

In an interview, Cynthia Ashman of Equest Farm told me that the venue also holds an elegant yearly fund raiser “Tails but No Black Tie" for City Park's Building and Endowment Fund,  Check their site for date in 2010.

The farm has done a good job rebuilding the stables and other structures in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. They no longer are able to offer trail rides to the public.

Equest  welcomes all horse lovers. Barn hours are 9AM – 6PM weekdays except Monday (maintenance day) and 9AM – 4PM on weekends. "Visitors are always welcome to bring carrots to feed the horses," said Cynthia Ashman.
