Race dialogue overkill in america?

There seems to be an increasingly intense dialogue going about how much more race has recently been being discussed in our nation. There is a very thought provoking article about how race is used in theatre in the New York Times. It would almost appear that the more painstaking the racial issue or divide, the more emotion it would evoke from the audience. The author, David Mamet points out the fact that he is Jewish, and would find almost any thing said about the Jewish faith being uttered from any ones mouth other than a Jew would be most offensive to him. His tone is one of complete exhaustion of the almost “over discussion” of race in recent times.  Check it out :
