Hip-hop is one of the most influential forms of art in the world, it is highly based on feeling, expression and the art of freestyle dancing. If you haven’t heard of The Rock Steady Crew, or The Electric Boogaloos, then you don’t know what you’re missing! These guys have been popping and locking it for over 20 years and have paved the way for shows like America’s Best Dance Crew.

Calling all B-Boys and B-Girls:

Altec Lansing audio company is holding an online video dance battle for all dancers, in which contestants will submit a one minute video to be voted on by their peers and judged by a panel of celebrities like Chamillionaire.

The top 10 videos will be judged by a celebrity panel and you can win the following three prizes:

First Prize:
A trip to appear in a music video by Beenie Man, featuring Pareece. Includes air transportation and three nights lodging for two persons. Video appearance is for one person, plus a cash prize of $2,500 and one Altec Lansing MIX boombox.

Second Prize:
A cash prize of $2,500 and one Altec Lansing MIX boombox.

Third Prize :
A cash prize of $1,000 and one Altec Lansing MIX boombox.

If you and your crew think you’ve got what it takes, then log onto www.mixdancecontest.com , video submissions will be taken from now until November 13th, 2009. Voting will end on November 20th, and winners are announced on December 4th.

Download the tracks, mix it up, do your thing and may the best crew win!
