I'm a die hard Lobo fan, and the Lobos are supposed to be an end around play past the tension in our lives. This year UNM football has made things worse on and off the field. We are all aware of the season without a victory. Well, today, the football team got sacked yet again.
According to ABQjournal.com, the original notes taken of interviews with witnesses to the Mike Locksley altercation that appear to support claims that Locksley punched and choked assistant J.B. Gerald were destroyed, UNM President David Schmidly revealed this morning. University officials told the Journal this morning that the athletics department employee who took those notes didn't realize they were part of an investigation and that they should be preserved.
Perhaps she should have destroyed UNM's offensive playbook instead...
However the Locksle-Gerald battle is like a BYU-Utah game, I don't know who to root for. According to abqjournal.com, JB Gerald supposedly demanded $500,000 from the university in exchange for remaining silent about the Mike Locksley altercation.
All I can say, is basketball season started last night with a win. Go Lobos!
