Don't pack up those pirate Halloween costumes just yet! Starting this Friday, Fernbank Museum invites all lads, lassies, and buccaneers to experience a pirate-themed weekend event. The celebration is centered around the exciting GOLD exhibit which runs through January 3, 2010.
On Friday, November 6th starting at 5:30 PM, adult land-lubbers can experience a pirate-themed Martinis & IMAX®. Enjoy live music, Drunken Parrot Martinis and a viewing of the 80s cult classic film, The Goonies.
Then on Saturday, November 7 (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) and Sunday, November 8 (noon to 3 p.m.), little swabbies are invited to come costumed in their favorite pirate attire for games, a limbo contest, temporary tattoos and a treasure hunt! Children arriving in pirate attire will get a special prize!
Pirate Weekend activities are included with Museum admission and are free for members. Museum admission is $15 for adults, $14 for students and seniors, and $13 for children ages 12 and under.
