Not sure what to get that finicky family member for Christmas? How about a monster of their very own? Six Flags over Georgia announced today that it would be auctioning off “Scout”, one of the original monsters from the ride, Monster’s Plantation.

The boat ride originally opened in 1981, and has become a staple attraction at the park. The exterior of the ride looks like a dilapidated antebellum plantation. Water-filled channels transport you to a monster picnic, and then into “the marsh”, a dark and dangerous swamp filled with frightening monsters. Riders eventually find their way to the safer side of the swamp, and disembark to a catchy monster song.

The ride and park is currently closed, but will reopen in the “09” season. Just a few of the changes you can expect to see are new characters, some interactive elements, and a new name, Monster Mansion.

Bids on "Scout" will start December 4th at 9am. Those who are interested in bidding may do so by visiting Ebay and searching for item number 180311122962 or seller I.D. “SixFlagsOverGeorgia. Bids start at $100, with  100% of the proceeds going to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
