Among some of the interesting stories happening in the news this weekend:
An 11 year old boy, Jordan Brown, was charged as an adult for using a .20 gauge shotgun, received as a Christmas gift, to kill his father's pregnant fiancee while she slept in the family's home. Brown is currently being held in the Lawrence County jail; his lawyer plans to ask for a transfer to a juvenile detention facility. This murder comes only a few months after an 8 year old boy murdered his father and father's friend.
The octuplet mom controversy took another spin. This time, Dennis Beaudoin, a man who claims that he dated Nadya Suleman in the 90s, says that Suleman asked him to donate sperm and he agreed. Suleman denies that he is the father.
The late Heath Ledger won Best Supporting Actor for his role as the Joker in "The Dark Knight". The award will go to his daughter, Matilda Rose.
The Delaware Chapter of Best Buddies International received a donor gift of $750,000 from Adrienne Arsht, one of the nation's top 50 philanthropic donors. The gift is intended to help the organization reach out to Hispanic and blacks with intellectual disabilities.
