If you don't have time or inclination for baking holiday treats this year, and you don't relish the idea of gluey, foamy, cotton-bally crafting, don't worry. You can still create a cute yet inexpensive gift for your kids' teachers or for your own co-workers. Last year, my son was constantly sick with ear infections, wheezing, and sinusitus. Needless to say, I didn't have time to bake up a storm, but I still wanted to show my co-workers and my kids' day care teachers how much I appreciated them.
I purchased very cute holiday mugs at my local drug store and filled them with peppermints, Hershey's miniatures, and candy cane pens. I gave these mugs o' joy to my co-workers.
For the day care, several teachers work together in each room to care for my 2 kids, so I created baskets o' joy for them. I purchased larger baskets at Wal-Mart and filled them with fun holiday edibles and pens. I covered the baskets with decorative cellophane, also from Wal-Mart, and used some ribbon to tie it together at the top. This cellophane was great for me because it's supposed to be wrinkly! I am no great bow-artist, either, so tying some ribbon at the top and using scissors to make it curl was perfect.
Time is almost up for getting these gifts ready, so I hope these ideas have been helpful. Good luck!
