'So You Think You Can Dance' recap: Viewers get first crack at voting for season six
Viewers will get their first crack at voting for season six of "So You Think You Can Dance" tonight after the week three performances.
The performances
Channing & Victor - Contemporary
- Adam - Thought this performance will bring them back in to the competition; Loves how well Channing has adapted to a new partner; Movements were such a high quality
- Nigel - Technical side of dance was wonderful; Wasn't feeling it on the emotional side perhaps because the characters were emotionally difficult to grasp
- Mary - Great partnership; Enjoyed the routine
- Manchester TV Examiner -So romantic; Beautiful lifts; Channing's turns and leg extensions were beautiful; Very passionate; Loved this side of Victor; Love this couple together
Noelle & Russell - African Jazz
- Adam - Totally connected to the characters; Fantastic time watching it
- Nigel - Fantastic lines; Russell is living up to the title of star; Noelle was much improved from last week
- Mary - Crazy good; Got so much more than expected from both dancers
- Manchester TV Examiner - Interesting choreography, but it didn't grab me; Russell was definitely a stand out because of his strong motions and fantastic facial expressions; Noelle was looking down or to the side too much; Loved the move where they flipped over one another multiple times
Ashleigh & Jakob - Jazz
- Adam - Saw one little stumble ( a stumble no one else noticed); Ashleigh was elegant, mature and fiery; Loves seeing each week how the choreographer incorporates Jakob's leaps
- Nigel - Felt the couple worked as a unit this week; Couple did a wonderful job fitting in to the characters without losing themselves
- Mary - Couple is a perfect match; Loved the use of a prop cane; Ashleigh keeps getting better and better every week
- Manchester TV Examiner - Stunning; Fantastic; First time I really saw Ashleigh stand out next to Jakob; One of my favorite performances of the season so far; Could've watched this performance over and over again thanks to unbelievable choreography
Mollee & Nathan - Salsa
- Adam - This style showed all of the couple's weaknesses; Spins were out of control
- Nigel - Looked uncomfortable
- Mary - Not sexy; Wasn't the couple's brightest moment; Side-by-side work was not synchronized
- Manchester TV Examiner - Couple seemed stiff, mostly in their upper body; Didn't enjoy it at all; Seemed so out of their comfort zone; Lots of stumbles and several times the couple got caught in one another
Karen & Kevin - Hustle
- Adam - The couple made the Hustle work for them; Kevin finally jumped out; Karen performed with restraint this time
- Nigel - So delighted with Kevin's technical side; Karen is always on top of the choreography, which is a good thing
- Mary - Loved that Karen was leading Kevin from beginning to end; Impressed with Kevin's performance; Karen was a Hustle queen
- Manchester TV Examiner - The couple made the lifts look effortless; Loved the choreography and partner work; Fantastic; Very beautiful
Kathryn & "Legacy" - Broadway
- Adam - Didn't agree with Kathryn's character, thought she needed to be more aggressive; Performance showed huge growth for "Legacy"
- Nigel - Disappointed with Kathryn but not sure why; "Legacy" lives up to being an inspiration for choreographers every week
- Mary - Great characters and great choreography but missing great chemistry; "Legacy" is growing much more than Kathryn
- Manchester TV Examiner - Adorable choreography; Kathryn was beautiful, and her leaps and turns were perfect with perfect pointed toes; "Legacy" had a terrific amount of energy and spunk
Pauline & Pete - Quickstep
- Adam - Loved the theme; Definitely had a few moments of stumbling
- Nigel - Technical points were not perfect but personality overshadow the mistakes
- Mary - The performance was amazing, even though the Quickstep may have not been perfect; Pauline needed to be closer to Paul during the holds; Couple needs to work on body connection if they get Quickstep again
- Manchester TV Examiner - Most interesting Quickstep I've seen but not my favorite; I don't love this pairing; It looked like Pete was stumbling over Pauline's feet a few times
Ellenore & Ryan - Hip-Hop
- Adam - Ryan is the most transformed dancer of the night; Not great but really good
- Nigel - Wasn't good at all; Didn't feel like the personalities matched the style
- Mary - Was a little sluggish half way through; Were a few spots that weren't synchronized
- Manchester TV Examiner - Couple moved like one 97 perfect of the time; Ryan proved he is very versatile by rocking this performance
