Branson's Gabe Avins has kept the Bulls strong, in search
of another state title.

When a team loses it's leading scorer and the legendary coach retires, rebuilding should be the order of the day.

That has not been the case for Branson high school in Marin, off to another strong start in the 08-09 boys basketball season. The small private school in Ross is now 11-1, including an opening win in the Marin County Athletic League.

Adam Boone had 20 and Gabe Avins added 11 as the Bulls used their patented defense and precise execution to beat Terra Linda (8-4) 43-36.

The MCAL is a wide open affair this year with contenders all over the map. Look no further than Drake, and the aforementioned Terra Linda as the top tier contenders with Marin Catholic and Tamalpais lurking very near.
