Interactive computing and multi-tasking are the buzz words of the day when it comes to desktop (or laptop) computing.  In keeping with this trend D-Link has introduced the 'Sidestage' monitor that is USB powered.  Think of it as an additional monitor to store your "lesser widgets" such as chat clients or Photoshop toolbars.

It seems to be more or less collapsible and boasts a 7 inch viewing area, even if it is at 800 x 400.  The D-Link claim that it is USB powered is great but there is no mention of how many you can have connected at once, or on the cost of the device.  Even so, it still seems like a pretty good idea.  A friend suggested a touch screen version would be great for kiosk applications; perhaps in the next release.

The CES is really bringing out some great ideas and is like Christmas for geeks like me.  Stay tuned for more news from the Consumer Electronic Show.
