U.S. Rep. Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (TX-26)

U.S. Rep. Michael Burgess of the 26th Congressional District is holding a town hall meeting Saturday, August 8, 2009 in Denton, Texas from 10 am to 11 am at the Center for Visual Arts.  Address is 400 E. Hickory at Bell.  Parking and seating are limited so arrive early to ensure a seat.

Later in the day Dr. Burgess will hold another town hall meeting in the Little Theater in the Administration Building at North Central Texas College located at 1525 W. California Street in Gainesville, Texas.  Time is from 2 pm to 3 pm.

Dr. Burgess was a doctor of obstetrics and gynecology prior to being elected to Congress in 2002.  As an M.D. and recognized physician, he is a notable authority in Congress on health care insurance and services.  So he will be a source of great input and analysis on the topic of health care in light of the present debate.

Turnout at Rep. Pete Sessions' town hall meeting Wednesday in Richardson was very heavy, with a standing room only overflow crowd in attendance.  And given the present health care debate and Dr. Burgess' reputation in the field, expect the audience to be likewise quite large.
