Adderall Apocalypse - who considers those (aside from Josephus) works of *history*? Especially the Book of Mormon, which wasn't even written until the 1800s? Don't you know that "extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence"? e.g.: A man named Yeshua existed in Judea 2000 years ago: ordinary claim. This man Yeshua was the son of God and rose from the grave on the 3rd day: extraordinary claim. It would take a bit more than third-hand accounts in the myths of ancient desert people to convince any legitimate inquirer of such claims... adderall-apocalypse.blogspot.com
Reply to Adderall Apocalypse 1: proofs of the historicity of the characters of the Pentateuch in other writings. I apologize for not replying to your comment sooner. I appreciate your comments. This post is being written on 8-16-2009 and the Book of Mormon was first published in March of 1830, 179 years ago. As a former public school teacher certified at the secondary level I can attest to the fact that this is a historical document. Even elementary students could identify this work as historical, given these facts.

There are no extraordinary claims made here concerning this writings; each and every collection can be verified to have been written before today! Before this week! Before this year! Before this century! All one need to do is read them!

You assume that these are “myths” and yet you offer absolutely no proof to verify your claim. The Apostle Paul stood before kings and testified to the authenticity of the historical record of the Hebrews, and that Josephus whom you admit was a work of history, was a Jewish general at the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 A.D. and due to his valor and strategies, although he was captured and imprisoned, his exploits impressed his adversaries, Vespasian and Titus, so much, that when Vespasian ascended to the Emperor’s throne and learned of Josephus’ imprisonment, he had him freed and made him the official Hebrew historian of the Roman Emperor’s court.
All one need to do is read the historical evidence!
