There are moments whilst traveling that contain the potential to define our lives. Once we find ourselves stripped from the comfort of our daily routine we transcend everyday experiences reconnecting with parts of ourselves that lie dormant. I consider myself exceptionally fortunate to have experienced some magical travel moments. I have swum with the famed Galapagos Islands Sea Turtles, ridden across Baja, Mexico on a dirt bike (the picture shows me at the end of a very tiring day!) and traversed the vastness of the Gobi desert with the help of a two humped Camel and a local guide by the name of Nadu.
Yet, the experience that touched my heart in a way that helped reshape my view of the world was on the face of it far less of an exciting adventure. I was at an utterly miserable point in my life struggling in an uninspiring job when I decided to travel to spiritually rich Nepal. My moment of clarity arrived as the sun gracefully set over the fabled
Phewa Tal lake in Pokhara (

The stark natural beauty which engulfed me infused my soul with a sense of purpose and much needed calmness. It was my first moment of spiritual connection with the world. I used this experience to redefine my life and began my odyssey of travelling the world seeking out connections with people and nature as a way of life.
