No one has ever become poor by giving.
Anne Frank
No one knew that I was going to give them something when I approached them.
1) I met up with a Polish Waitress in Leicester Square (attached photo) and she was very friendly and offered me free food at her restaurant even though the restaurant was not hers. I gave her a one week travel pass on the London Underground
2) I then met a group of Charity workers who were spending their afternoon drumming up interest for a charity that dealt with mental illness. They were doing this out of the kindness of their hearts so I bought all 6 of them lunch at the local Pizza Hut.
3) I bumped into a painter who was on his lunch break. He struck me as a humble and very family oriented man. I asked him a hypothetical question about what he would want to receive if he was given the option. His answer was that he would splash out for his kids. I purchased 4 tickets to the Lion King London’s famed Theatre district..
4) I then met up with some other charity workers who were helping aid organizations in earthquake hit regions. I gave them a 24 pound donation.
5) My final act of kindness was when I came across a couple who had no place to stay. I found out they were motivational speakers on their way to Brighton. This inspired me so I bought them a hotel room.
This whole experience was a wonderful way to experience the other side of human kindess; giving. I have been on the receiving end of other people’s generosity so I wanted to switch places. I found that the gesture of giving, even small gestures can make a big difference.
