
The January issue of Oprah magazine shows a picture of Oprah Winfrey now next to a thinner version of herself in 2005. We all know about Oprah's struggle with her weight and if you are one of the millions of people who gain and lose weight depending on different circumstances in life, you can probably relate.
Inside, Oprah explains she first had hyperthyroidism which then moved into hypothyroidism which both influence weight. She also reveals her life got busy with her work and travel schedule. You don't have to know much about Oprah to know she is a busy woman.
Oprah's weight gain had nothing to do with knowledge or information. Her problem was one of life balance. She neglected to take care of herself. In an over-worked and over-scheduled life, it's easy to lose focus on a diet and exercise routine.
It's the beginning of a new year and a good time to commit to your health and wellness. Commit to getting enough sleep, exercise, healthy foods and time for yourself. Make 2009 the year when you make permanent changes in your health behaviors that will have lasting effects for years to come.
