Brooklyn Fine Arts Examiner | Bio
Find out more about Kira:

My name is Kira Melamed. I am originally from Moscow, Russia. I came here in July of 1999 when I was 9 years old. As long as I can remember I liked to draw, knit, sing, act and any other creative activity. During my Junior year of High School I realized I had a calling for art, and ever since then I've been practicing art full time. Now I am in Hunter College taking as many art and art history courses as I can to find out more about this path I chose.

My grandfather, mother and father all dabbled in the arts. My grandfather was an architect in Moscow. My parents treated art only as hobby. Since a very young age my mother took me into all the museums in Moscow as well as theaters. We also took trips to Europe and there we also went to museums. At a very young age I got to see the Pieta in Italy and that overwhelming feeling stayed forever with me. Now I take myself into all the museums and some galleries around New York and any other places that I visit.
