Dogs have long competed in comformation shows to see which dog is the best looking and most structurally sound dogs in their breed. For the fourth year in both New York and Philadelphia the "Barking Beauty Pageant" is putting both purebred and mixed breed dogs to a different kind of test: glamour.

Sunday, March 15 dogs will compete in three catagories: activewear, glamourwear and talent. There will also be a top-prize winner chosen. Winners can receive a host a prizes, including gift certificates to local mutt-loving merchants for treats and grooming.

The entry fee is $50 for a team of pooch and person, extra humans cost just $15 more. The fee to watch this spectacle is also $15. The event will be held at L'Etage / Beau Monde, 624 S 6th St, Philadelphia, PA 19147. Contestants are expected to arrive at 2pm and festivities begin at 3pm sharp.

Contestants don't have to be dressed up to win, but the judges seem to preffer dogs with a unique sense of taste and style. The registration is limited and slots fill fast, so if you want to enter your beauty, don't wait. You can register at thebarkingbeauty.com/philly/.

Good Luck
