So, did you go? If you were one of the many people to take the time to enjoy some new cars, I applaud you. For those who have been regular attendees to the car show you might have noticed that it was smaller, and almost seemed to have less "in-your-face" attitude. Fortunately that lack of attitude was made up by some great displays from a selected amount of automakers.
The new for 2010 cars included the Acura ZDX, Audi A4, BMW 5 Series GT, Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac SRX, Chevy Camaro, Chevy Equinox, Dodge Ram, Ford Fusion, Ford F-150, Ford Mustang, Ford Taurus, GMC Terrain, Honda Insight, Jaguar XF-R, Kia Borrego, Kia Forte, Kia Soul, Lexus HS250, Lincoln MKT, Lotus Evora, Porsche Panamera, Saab 9-5, Saab 9-3x, Subaru Legacy, Subaru Outback, Toyota 4Runner, Toyota Prius, VW Golf/GTI, and VW Jetta TDI.

Audi was not here to simply show off their cars, they were here to show off their artistic mind with a simply awesome all white display.... All white except for the stunning red S5. Ford was also on their game, with a highly futuristic display. It was interactive, included each of their new cars, their new concept Raptor, and even had a talking Robot for the kids. I am sure you have heard of Nissan's "tent sale" they have at the end of each model year. I think they decided to bring the tent to the show, creating a tent-like enclosure for their full lineup. Saab went with a green look, housing comfortable and economical cotton chairs to sit in while you took a look at their cars. GM was nice enough to show us a neat Camaro Pace Car display, showcasing each generation of the Camaro's Pace Cars. They had four Corvettes in their Chevy display (never a bad thing), brought their new Equinox, Terrain, LaCrosse, CTS-V, CTS Wagon, SRX, and even their concept Converj (Cadillac's Chevy Volt).

Unfortunately, greatness conflicted with disappointment. Toyota had an annoying display for the most part, they had a group of people singing and chanting the entire show. They also had a doubly annoying quiz show where people were allowed to wrongly answer a question saying a "Corolla" was not a car Toyota manufactured while the "Blue Lightning" was. Suzuki went cheap, housing only 4 cars without a single attendant, they were just there. Porsche would not let you touch a single car, and the locked doors told me they did not want you sitting in any of them as well. Mercedes and Infiniti? Let's just say they are too good for a Miami car show. Guess they could not find any dealers to volunteer. Chrysler's display seemed a bit bland as well as kind of dead, I didn't see anyone in the area except for one or two at the Challenger display.
The rest of the crowd did not have anything to make me write about, nothing bad, but nothing eye catching either.
So, I am forced to hand my best display award to Audi this year. The display was simple, elegant, and cool. It was eye catching, it made you want to visit the display. It even included a Forza 3 for Xbox race simulator in the corner, it was much better than Lexus's gimmicky IS-F race simulator.
There was good, bad, and ugly, but who cares, I got to sit in a bunch of new cars, YES!
