Looking for a way to sweeten up your gift giving this Mother's Day?  Edible gifts are easy on your budget and moms and grandmoms will appreciate the homemade treat.  Even better?  The following three recipes are a cinch.  Make one, or make them all for a little variety.

Mom's Fudge

16 oz. chocolate or butterscotch morsels

14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk

Pinch of salt

1 1/2 tsp. of vanilla

1 cup of chopped nuts (optional)

Take an 8x8 inch pan and line the bottom and sides with foil; butter it.  Melt morsels, milk, salt, and vanilla in a pan on the stove over medium heat while stirring.  When melted and smooth, add nuts and mix well.  Pour into buttered pan and spread evenly.  Refrigerate overnight for best results.  Lift fudge out using foil and peel off onto a cutting board.  Cut into bite-size pieces and place in containers.  Refrigerate until gift-giving time to keep from getting too soft.

Mom's Macaroons

14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk

2 tsp. of vanilla

2 (7 oz.) packages of shredded coconut

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  Mix all ingredients together and drop spoonfuls of the mixture on a greased and floured baking sheet.  Bake for 4 to 7 minutes.

Mom's Chocolate Pretzels

1 bag of small pretzels

1 bag of Hershey's kisses

1 bag of M&M's chocolate candies

Place pretzels on a foil-covered cookie sheet.  Place 1 Hershey's Kiss on the center of each pretzel.  Place in a pre-heated 275 degree oven for 2 to 3 minutes.  Remove from the oven and press 1 M&M in the center of each Kiss.  Cool to room temperature or refrigerate.

Consider presenting your treats in a coffee mug or small decorative flower pot for an added gift.  If you're pinching pennies, many dollar and discount stores have excellent choices.
