According to Outreach Magazine, one-quarter of the largest churches in America are self-identified as Baptists. The statistics, compiled by Lifeway Research, are presented in a special edition of Outreach every year.
Twenty-four of the largest churches are Baptists, with Second Baptist Church of Houston, Texas, the largest Baptist church on the list. Second Baptist was fifth overall. None of the top 100 churches are in New England.
