Staying up until midnight to welcome the New Year can be tough for kids. Fortunately they don't have to stay up past their bedtime to ring in 2009. The Phoenix Zoo is holding a Noon Year's Eve Celebration today!
On Wednesday, Decemebr 31, from 9 a.m. until noon, families can ring in the New Year with Radio Disney, tons of snow, over 1,200 animals representing more than 200 species and plenty of things to see and do. There is even going to be a sparkling cider toast at noon!
A visit to the Phoenix Zoo is a great way to start the new year. It is among the Top 5 Zoos in the Nation for Children. In 2008, Valley residents voted the Best Kid-Friendly Attraction, Best Place to Take the Kids on a Day Off and Best Entertainment Value. It was also named runner-up as the Best Place to Go on a First Date and Best Place to People Watch, so grown-ups will find plenty to keep them busy, too!
The Noon Year's Eve celebration if FREE with admission or membership to the Phoenix Zoo. Winter admission prices are: $16 for Adults (ages 13 - 59), $11 for Seniors (age 60+) and $7 for Kids (ages 3 - 12). Infants under age 3 are admitted FREE.
The Phoenix Zoo is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. ZooLights, one of the Valley's top Holiday Lights displays is open from 6:00 p.m until 10:00 p.m. every night through January 11, 2009. Admission prices for ZooLights are: $9 for non-members and $7 for Zoo members.
