EA, makers of the popular Madden series, as well as dozens of other games has announced that it is bringing three new games to the iPhone and iPod Touch. The games include NBA Live 2010, Need for Speed Shift, and Surviving High School. EA has already bright Madden and other games to the iPhone and this is another example of the iPhone being taken more and more seriously as a legitimate gaming machine.
NBA Live 2010 will feature all 30 teams in the NBA with a full regular season mode and playoffs. Need for Speed Shift is a popular racing game that features 28 racing events and lots of different cars that are all upgradeable. Finally, there’s Surviving High School, a high school simulation for those of us who want to relive our glory days in high school. This game seems the most interesting as EA has most of the facets of high school life covered in it’s simulation including academics and social life.

I really like what EA is doing because there is a lot of potential in the iPhone as a gaming device. It is very easy to purchase games through the app store and the gameplay should prove to be fun and interesting. EA is probably the biggest and smartest third party video game developer and this is just another example of their genius.
