Burgers + beers + billiards = blissx3
If anyone knows how Grumpy’s got its name, I’d love to know. There is nothing grumpy about this place. Maybe if you are grumpy you should stop in and de-grump?
The menu at the
downtown joint is 100% diner – good diner. The chili is awesome, the Juicy Lucy is sublime and I can’t wait to try everything else. Perfect food for your later-in-the evening-type meal.
The bar itself is cool. It’s relaxed, laid back and fun. If you’re not into billiards, try darts, jukebox or just plain people watching. There are equal parts suit-and-tie guys and tattoos and piercings; a good mix for any joint.
While the entertainment at the
Northeast location is rockin’ make sure you eat before you get there. The lack of a kitchen makes this more for entertainment than for grub. Each spot has its own schedule of events. Regular events like karaoke, trivia and comedy keep the regulars coming back and the special events are worth staying up for.
Last but not least, the
Roseville location has everything you could ever want in a neighborhood joint. Normally, I wouldn’t have anything nice to say about a ‘chain’ establishment, but this is one exception I would happily make. And I wouldn’t exactly call Grumpy’s a chain, more like a thrice occurring phenomenon.
With three locations and three distinct feels – there is bound to be a Grumpy’s near you and one that fits your mood – even if you are grumpy.
