There is a lot of controversy surrounding childhood vaccinations – especially when it comes to vaccinating infants. Many health care experts and parents are questioning the added ingredients and chemicals being injected into their babies. It's no wonder so many parents hesitate to consent to receiving these shots. But parents could face numerous headaches down the road for not doing so.

Georgia's Law on Vaccinations

According to a recent AJC article revealing Georgia's law on childhood vaccinations, "No child shall be admitted to or attend any school or facility in this state unless the child shall first have submitted a certificate of immunization to the responsible official of the school or facility. …” (Atlanta Journal Constitution, November 23, 2008)

Here is a list the vaccines most pediatricians recommend babies receive during their first year:

  • Hepatitis B (HepB)
  • Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (DTaP)
  • Haemophilus influenzae Type b (Hib)
  • Inactivated polio (IPV)
  • Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR)
  • Varicella (chickenpox)
  • Pneumococcal (PCV)
  • Influenza (flu)
  • Hepatitis A (HepA)
  • Rotavirus
  • Meningococcal

What's the 411?

Most vaccines contain a heavy concentration of metals including mercury, aluminum and formaldehyde. There has been an ongoing debate over whether vaccines containing mercury and these other metals have contributed to the sharp increase in the number of autism cases diagnosed. There are several studies currently taking place to examine this claim, even though currently there is no proof that a correlation exists.

What should you do?

Parents want to protect their babies from dangerous chemicals and metals in vaccines, but also struggle with wanting to shield them from the dangers of so many dangerous, contagious diseases. Sure, your baby's natural immune system is powerful, but is it enough? Georgia law states that children without the required up to date vaccines will not be permitted to register for school or be placed in childcare facilities. This could pose a serious dilemma for working parents. So what do you do?

Homeopathic vaccines

Homeopathic vaccines are becoming the answer for many Atlanta families. Atlanta has quite a few practicing homeopathic doctors who provide both traditional and oral homeopathic vaccinations for babies, school age children and the entire family. Homeopathic vaccines appear to be much less traumatic for babies and small children since they are administered orally. Homeopathic doctors can provide parents with updated vaccination forms so that school or daycare acceptance is not an issue.

Are homeopathic vaccines right for your baby?

Before making such an important decision, do your research. Talk to your pediatrician and consult with a homeopathic pediatrician as well. Parenthood is a much too important job to leave such important decisions up to the "experts." Get all the facts before making a decision.
