Readers of my personal blog, Mango & Ginger, know that I love art about as much as I love food, and I especially like activities that connect the two. A gallery opening + wine + creative hors d'oeuvres? Yes, please.
That's why I'm very happy to report about an event taking place this coming Saturday, May 9th. The Contemporary Museum, the Mount Vernon spot known for its promotion of edgy and innovative artistic endeavors, is celebrating its 20th anniversary in a positively fabulous way. They're turning the museum into an over-the-top Indian nightclub. Bollywood, here we come.
The evening will include Indian food, signature cocktails, screenings of Bollywood films and - the piece de resistance - a Bollywood-themed cake presented by none other than Baltimore's own bad boy of the Food Network, Charm City Cake's Duff Goldman.
Sounds more than a little fun, right?
Tickets are $150 for museum members and $175 for non-members. Proceeds support the museum's exhibitions and education programs - and the cost is fully tax-deductible.
