Florida punk-rockers Against Me! are slated to release a new album in 2010. This will be the bands second album on Sire records.
This is the bands most recent studio work since 2007's "New Wave" which featured singles "Thrash Unreal" (which hit #11 on the Modern Rock charts), and "Stop!" (which was featured as a theme song for MTV's Rock the Vote campaign.)
Possibly the most exciting part of Against Me! hitting the studio is that this time they'll be working with musician and legendary producer Butch Vig.
Vig is best known as the drummer for the alt-rock group Garbage and the producer of Nirvana's "Nevermind" and "Siamese Dream" by the Smashing Pumpkins.
Vig has swayed back and forth between producing and performing with Garbage until the band was put on hiatus. Now all of his focus is in producing at Smart Studios in Los Angeles.
With a powerhouse like Butch Vig behind the scenes, the new Against Me! record should be something completely new for the band. This is also the bands first studio work since frontman Tom Gabel released his own solo album "Heart Burns" in 2008.
