Murder on the Bertram Express, All Aboard!
As a child growing up I loved mysteries. I read Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys religiously. I thoroughly enjoyed Sherlock Holmes and Agatha Christie’s novels. One of my all time favorite mystery movies was Murder on the Orient Express based on an Agatha Christie story by the same name. I was quite intrigued by Hercule Poirot’s adventures and dreamed of becoming a private investigator.
If there is anyone out there who may be a history lover, like myself and a mystery buff, let me tell you about a unique opportunity to combine these two passions. Take a ride on the historic Bertram Flyer!

The rail road itself is historic in its own rite, built in 1871. The tracks have played a prominent part in the area’s history. The passenger cars were built in the 1920’s and used in public service until the 1960’s. They were later purchased and refurbished in 1992 for use by the Austin Steam Train company. Trains depart daily and offer a unique way to see the Texas Hill Country and enjoy a taste of Texas history while you are at it. Ride in style in the Excursion or First Class Cars for air conditioned comfort.
All aboard! The historic Bertram Flyer will once again host a mystery trip, ‘Murder on the Bertram Flyer’ on August 22
