1. WakeCounty Animal Shelter

The Wake County Animal Shelter is partnering with VCA Animal Hospitals to give adoption and additional incentive by making it easier on the pocketbook! Dogs and cats of all ages are in need of homes and when you find your perfect pet, VCA offers a free health exam and a medical allowance of $500 if your pet has any ailments such intestinal parasites, ear/skin infections, etc.

Phone: (919) 212-PETS (7387)  Hours of operation: Monday 11a-4p, Tuesday 11a-7p, Wednesday:call for hours*, Thursday 11a-7p, Friday 11a-4p, Saturday 11a-4p and Sunday 1p-4p.         

Adoption fees: $70-120.00

2. Second Chance Pet Adoptions                                                                  

Second Chance Pet Adoptions is a non-profit animal rescue organization that has served homeless dogs and cats in the Triangle area of North Carolina since 1989. Adopt a furry friend or learn how to become a foster parent!

3. Best Friend Pet Adoption                                                                  

Best Friend Pet Adoption (BFPA) is a no-kill animal rescue organization based in central North Carolina. BFPA has no building, office or shelter. They are an all-foster network. This organization is recommended by local Raleigh veterinarians!

Adoption fees are $195.00 (all inclusive)

4. SPCA of Wake County                                                                         

There are two locations here in the Triangle area. This local SPCA was founded in Raleigh in 1967.    The Society for the Prevention of Curelty to Animals (SPCA) of Wake County is dedicated to creating a humane life where every pet gets a good home. There are always monthly adoption events, so check back often!
