Face it dads, even the best of us need a night out with the boys occasionally. A few hours while mom's away with the kids, to watch the game, crack a few jokes, and maybe even throw some meat on the grill.

It's just as important that we get some time to ourselves to re-energize, have some fun, and stay connected with our buddies, as it is for mom to have some free time with her gal-pals. Vickie and I will sometimes hire a baby-sitter and both spend a night with our friends (She usually gets the house, as all us guys need is a porch and a bbq!)

And, let's face it, what do we guys like to do best when they "hang-out?" We like to EAT. Usually, I'll have each of the guys bring something simple, chips and dip, potato salad, etc, while I man the grill.

Here are three of my favorite "Guy's Night" meals:

Gourmet Steak

There no reason that the gas grill sitting on your patio can't serve up the same quality of steaks that cost big bucks at the high-end steak houses.

It takes a little more effort and a few more ingredients that just a shake of salt and pepper, but the results are out of this world!

Reuben Dogs

If you like a good Reuben with corned beef, sauerkraut, and Thousand Island dressing, you're going to love this quick and simple hotdog with all the flavors of the classic sandwich

Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich

A very traditional recipe, passed along to me by a friend who used to live in Philly, and frequented Pat’s King of Steaks, where the cheese steak was invented in the 1930’s, and man-o-man, is it ever good!

What about you? Any favorite "Manly" recipes you'd like to share?
