One of the highlights of any vacation involving air travel is the time spent crammed into an airline seat reading the in-flight magazine. Once finished with flowery narratives of perfect vacations and endless advertisements for the world’s best steakhouse, you might find the Sky Mall catalog – a catalog that contains excerpts from other catalogs (many of which you’ve never heard of) – which in turn sell some of the most curious gadgets you’ve ever seen.
Here is a selection of the most interesting gadgets from Sky Mall (inspired by my own recent vacation).
Truck Antlers – Is it a fashion statement? A way to scare off potential road-kill? Or a way to battle other trucks over the affection of a hot Corvette?
Haan Steam Station – This portable steam generator claims to remove wrinkles, eliminate odors and kill 99.9% of germs, bacteria and dust mites. It should work well, unless you host a breed of dust mites that can survive 212 degree steam.
Bushnell Personal GPS Locator – Mark up to three locations and this ultra-portable GPS will show you the way back. Perfect for finding your car in large parking lots. Better than breadcrumbs if you’re heading out hiking in the woods.
Mini-studio in a box – Perfect for photographing items before auctioning them on EBay, or creating your own claymation studio.
Digital camera swim mask – No need to carry an underwater camera while snorkeling with this unique swim mask with a 5 megapixel built-in camera.
