This kids watch has a GPS locator, and can
send notification if removed

Fear of child abduction has reached the point that as many as a third of children 8-15 have never been allowed to play outside the home without adult supervision. What this does for the development of independence and initiative in these kids I leave to your imagination.

So any tool that can give kids at least the feeling of greater independence while giving parents some piece of mind should be given a close look. Lok8u is introducing the Nu-M8 at CES - a GPS tracking device in a child’s digital watch.

  • The watch can be accessed remotely via the Internet or mobile phone. It supports the following features:
  • Track where your child is at any given time.
  • The device can send an Email or text message if removed.
  • Set a “safe zone”. If the child leaves that area, the device will send an Email or text message.
  • It is water resistant and dermatologically safe.
  • Oh yes, it also tells time.

Already available in the UK, the Nu-M8 is expected to be available in the U.S. but the date has not yet been announced.
