Add GPS navigation to your
Windows mobile smartphone

If you have a GPS enabled smartphone that runs Windows Mobile 2003 or later, you don’t need to buy a dedicated GPS – CoPilot Live 7 can give you most of the features of a dedicated GPS for just $99.99.

CoPilot Live offers optional traffic subscription service, and comes with one of my favorite features: multipoint route optimization. If your phone does not have a GPS built-in, an external receiver is also supported.

Garmin also offers GPS software for smartphones in the form of their Garmin Mobile xt software that also supports Symbian and Palm smartphones.

Keep in mind that smartphone GPS chips are often not as capable as those built into dedicated portable navigation devices. Also, some phones lock the GPS access so it can only be used by their own software - so be sure to verify compatibility before purchasing this type of software.
