New Kindle works overseas

Amazon’s Kindle e-book reader has become the most successful e-book device to date, combining an excellent screen with instant wireless delivery of hundreds of thousands of books from Amazon’s selection. Until now American’s traveling abroad would have to pre-purchase books before their trip (or rely on USB uploads from computers).

Amazon’s new International kindle adds free wireless delivery of books to 100 countries worldwide for just $20 more than the price of a standard Kindle. This also marks the first time that the kindle will be available to readers outside of the U.S.

The new international Kindle will ship on October 19th..
