Muvee Reveal (See Muvee Reveal – video editing for the rest of us) makes it easy to mix video clips and still photos. Still photos aren’t just displayed statically – a gentle zoom or pan effect is applied as well. The software attempts to find the most important part of the photo for the zoom operation (faces, for example), but this can be adjusted using the MagicSpot feature. Here you can see the spot adjusted to focus on the cliffs in the image.

The MagicSpot feature can be used to set a manual zoom and pan as well as shown below.

You can apply global settings that adjust the way your video is edited using the personalization feature. For example: you can specify whether to adjust the video duration to the music, or to preserve the original content and trim or repeat the music. You can also control the audio mixing, balancing the background music, original soundtrack and voiceover.

When you are satisfied with the video, you can save it in a wide variety of output formats ranging from High Definition, to DVD quality, to mobile devices.

Conclusion:
Muvee Reveal offers a selection of themes that control the editing style, pacing and transitions used to create the video. Themes cannot be created using the software, though additional themes can be purchased online. The themes offer a decent variety of options that can create remarkably good videos in a very short time. But the software is definitely not a complete video editing solution – you will likely also want a more flexible software package for editing tasks not supported by Reveal. But as long as you recognize the strengths and limitations of this software, you will likely come to find it an indispensible tool that is unmatched when it comes to sheer efficiency.
