Vivitek promises new projectors: green and LED

Vivitek has a line of DLP based projectors
It’s tough to say what qualified Vivitek for its place at day 17 of the CES 30 days of innovation. The press information promises more green technology – though it’s hard to know what would make these DLP projectors any more environmentally friendly than any other brand.
They are also announcing a new LED based 1080p projector. Assuming this is targeting the ultra-small / ultra-portable projector market, this is more interesting, as at 1080p vertical resolution it would be considerably more useful than existing comparable projectors that have lower resolutions. LED projectors tend to use less power than other technologies, but have significantly reduced brightness.
This is one we’ll need to revisit after CES when more information is available.
