Pocket safe USB Drive
The USB drive with its own PIN pad

Portable USB drives are easy to use and very portable, but that means they are also easy to lose. If you have any sensitive information on them at all, that poses a great risk. It’s no wonder that in secure government offices the IT departments seal off computers’ USB ports to prevent employees from walking off with sensitive data.

Encryption software addresses this problem – there is even free software to create stealth encrypted partitions on USB drives.

But if you are really and truly paranoid, and want the ultimate in USB device security, consider the Take series Personal Pocket Safe USB drives. This drive has its own PIN pad where you can define PIN numbers up to ten digits long to protect your data. By blocking access for a specified period after three failed attempts, this built-in security precaution eliminates one of the major vulnerabilities of a pure software approach.

The Personal Pocket Safe also comes as the  Secret Diary USB drive. This version includes flexible diary software that runs completely off the encrypted drive. A never-lost subscription service allows you to upload your data to a secure site to protect against loss.
