The following is a summary of the ratings awarded by the MPAA to films, which are currently in theaters and those soon to be released. Along with the rating given to the film there is also a brief statement provided by the MPAA for its rational.

Reason “Action violence, some suggestive humor and language.”

Adam – PG-13
Reason: “Thematic material, sexual content and language.” 

The Cove – PG-13
Reason: “Disturbing content.”

Funny People – R
Reason: “Language and crude sexual humor throughout, and some sexuality.”

Lorna's Silence – R
Reason: “Brief sexuality/nudity, and language.”

Not Quite Hollywood – R
Reason: “Graphic nudity, sexuality, violence and gore, some language and drug use.”

The Collector – R
Reason: “Pervasive sadistic bloody violence, language and some sexuality/nudity.”

G – general audiences

PG – parental guidance suggested

PG-13 – parents strongly cautioned

R  - restricted (those under 17 must be accompanied by an adult)

NC-17 – no one 17 and under admitted
