Baseball rock, Ska, and Indie folk

Quite a variety of good shows this week in the clubs of Boston.
On Tuesday, Steve Wynn of the Dream Syndicate, Peter Buck of R.E.M., and Scott McCaughey of the Young Fresh Fellows crowd into the Middle East upstairs for a multi-side-project show, featuring the Baseball Project, the Minus 5 and the Steve Wynn IV. The Baseball Project obviously plays songs about baseball, and subjects such as Satchel Paige, Curt Flood, and Ted F**king Williams. Wynn will perform material from his dozens of releases from varous projects, and Wynn and his wife, drummer Linda Pitmon, will join Buck and McCaughey to play songs by the Minus 5. Wynn's website explains that on this tour, all bands are comprised of the same players, "with a possible costume change or two."
