Hummus is the perfect starter for any Greek feast.

From the outside it would be impossible to know that some really incredibly authentic and affordable Greek food lies behind the outdated (and occasionally out of all the necessary light-up letters) Knight Restaurant sign on San Fernando Blvd. But brave the so-tiny-you-could-almost-miss-it exterior and be rewarded with a greeting from the friendly staff, and delicious scents wafting from the open kitchen.

Knight Restaurant will seat and serve you promptly. There may only be one waiter, but he will make sure that every customer is taken care of no matter how busy they are! Take your time perusing the menu- it’s going to be hard to pick with all the great dishes they offer here, and especially once you see the prices.

Start with the Greek salad. Simple, but prepared with very fresh vegetables, feta cheese, and a delicious and tangy vinaigrette, this salad is the just the beginning of the great quality food Knight Restaurant prides itself on serving. Share the hummus and experience some of the creamiest chick peas ever made. Paired with the warm and perfectly crisp pita bread, this is just the warm up for the main event.

The lamb gyros are the big winner here! Tender, juicy, and overflowing from the pita and onto the plate, the lamb gyros are more than just filling, they are satisfying in a way that is most unexpected from such an under the radar restaurant. Take time to savor every bite, and enjoy the obligatory Yanni playing on the flat screen above the door. It may seem a strange mix with the open, utilitarian kitchen next to the ultra modern and sleek TV, especially considering the glass table tops and linens in the dining room area of this restaurant, but Knight Restaurant’s staff and food will charm diners in a way that makes these things only more endearing.
