Burbank Farmers’ Market is host to a variety of local farmers and vendors. One of the most popular prepared foods booths is The Gourmet Tamale Factory. With seven different kinds of tamales from the standard chile cheese, chicken, and pork to the more unusual and dessert like tamale, sweet pineapple, they've got you covered. At just $3 a pop with a side of sweet mild green salsa, or spicy red salsa, their tamales are more than a generous serving and can make a meal all on their own.
The sweet corn tamale is a nice mix of sweet white corn and savory green salsa. It’s a nice “starter” tamales for newbies to the scene. The sweet pineapple is a great mix of savory yellow corn with sweet, juicy chunks of pineapple bursting from the husk. (The only thing that could make these delicious babies better is if the pineapple were fresh instead of canned.) All in all, these tamales are top notch, and available every Saturday from 8 am to 12:30 pm on the corner of Third St. And Orange Grove Ave.
Tamales are ubiquitous at Farmers’ Markets across Los Angeles, but the keys to keep customers coming back to a particular stand are great quality, interesting flavors, good prices, exceptional quantity, and a friendly face that will always recommend their personal favorite and greet you with a genuine smile. The Gourmet Tamale Factory booth at Burbank Farmers’ Market is just that kind of stand and is sure to keep customers happy and loyal.
