Panasonic's Online Community
Panasonic's new online community - LivinginHD.com

Panasonic "gets" social media.  Not only have they begun to embrace it but they have taken full advantage of it with the creation of their new online community - www.LivinginHD.com

With this new venture, Panasonic strives to be known as the electronics company that cares, listens and interacts with their customers.  Users have the ability to upload videos, photos, ask questions and get additional information on various Panasonic products.

The best part of it all?  They have upped the ante by offering complimentary Panasonic suites to Living in HD (LiHD) families that are chosen.  The products include:

  • 50" VIERA® HDTV with web entertainment
  • HD camcorder with 5.1 surround sound
  • Wi-Fi digital cameras
  • Blu-ray Disc™ player with movies
  • Toughbook laptop
  • Wii gaming console with games, and more.

The families not only receive the highly sought-after products for free but have a professional installer come in and train them on how to use the devices.  Families receive VIP treatment and are able to give Panasonic their input as well.  This innovative way of reaching out to consumers has been spreading quickly among big and small brands alike as social media becomes the new way of marketing.  It allows consumers to not be talked at but rather talked with which is making people far more receptive of particular brands.  The LivinginHD experience has also extended onto Twitter and Facebook and has enabled Panasonic users to ask questions and be more connected with the brand.

Families like the Calandro's and the Pollak's have taken the experience to the next level by not only being active participants of the LiHD site but also in social outlets such as Twitter, Picasa and even creating their own blogs to document their lives in "HD".   Panasonic is teaching families how to enrich their lives for the better with modern technology and it seems these families are truly taking to it.

On the community, you will actually find me - Kate Dickman, as the official Community Leader.  Although I am doing a positive write-up about the site while being affiliated with it, I can truly say I am impressed by these efforts and can sincerely see the passion Panasonic has in their products and consumers.  The whole HD experience in general is certainly a new one for the world but one that people are excited about and are embracing eagerly.
