If you're looking for a sandwich with goat cheese, some interesting relishes, or exotic flavors, don't go to Pugzie's.
However, if you like your sandwiches and sides basic, then Pugzie's is your place.
The 27 year old establishment does a bustling lunchtime business serving traditional picnic-fare: Hot & cold sandwiches, pasta salads, soups and homemade baked goods.
The food:
Hot and cold sandwich staples like turkey, ham & cheese, roast beef, tuna and egg salad are the foundation of Pugzie's menu. Each day, they offer a daily sandwich special which includes one of the aforementioned sandwiches, a soup, salad or chips (depending on the day).
Also on the menu: Salads, soups and a selection of homemade baked goods. Don't confuse "salad" with healthy eating. Most of their salad options are mayo-based crab, potato, and macaroni.
The ambiance:
Think 1980s Florida. The exterior is mint green; The interior, white tile with tropical accents. The 3-times expanded space houses abundant seating, and some outside dining space (once the weather cools down). Toucans and garden scenes are painted on the walls, tropical prints adorn the booths. For solo diners there is a doctors' office-style magazine rack for your reading pleasure.
No dice if you're looking for a weekend sandwich spot. Pugzie's is strictly weekday.
