The menu board at Stacy's Smokehouse BBQ.

"Where is your favorite barbecue joint in Phoenix," I ask a recent transplant from the south. "I haven't even tried to have barbecue in Phoenix," she replied.

On my quest for some delicious barbecue, I visited Stacy's Smokehouse BBQ off Indian School and 16th Street.

The menu board consists of 3 blackboards filled with barbecue and southern cooking goodness, in no particular order.

"Where are the sandwiches?" I wondered as I viewed the clusters of chalky text above. Then I found it. Written in a cloud in the center of the boards...SANDWICHES.

Smoked meat sandwiches come in 2 sizes: Regular for $4.50 and large for $5.25. Fill them with your choice of chicken, beef, hot links, or pork.

Everything at Stacy's is a la carte, but it will be difficult to pass up their side options: Cole slaw, black eyed peas, yams, greens and more.

Stacy's is a small, funky box of a building, but they do have 5 tables for in-restaurant dining, or call and order take out.
