Summer has officially arrived and that means firing up the grill for a barbeque.
If you are looking for a new way to impress your party guests, how about trying a Kobe beef burger--- stuffed with cheese. These burgers are rich and flavorful, and the fontina cheese provides a juicy surprise!
And if you are curious about the pickle, check out the Farmer's Market in Birmingham and stop by McClure's Pickles, they are the best in town!
**Foodie Tip: Papa Joe in Birmingham has Kobe beef at their meat counter for about $8.99 a pound. The price seems a bit hefty, but the taste difference is worth a try. If your pocket book can’t stretch, just try a ground round to stuff with cheese.
Kobe Beef Burgers Stuffed with Fontina Cheese
Makes: 3 beef patties
Ingredients:
1 pound ground Kobe beef
½ teaspoon Dale’s sauce
3 ounces of Fontina sliced into 1 oz. pieces
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
In a large bowl mix together the beef, Dale’s sauce, and salt and pepper. Form 6 tight balls (they will be small because you need to form two together). Flatten into a patty, top with a slice of cheese leaving about ½ inch around of beef patty. Top with another beef patty, and seal the edges together. Continue with the other patties. Cook on the grill to desired doneness. Serve with buns.
