If you are heading to the Jersey Shore this summer, chances are pretty good that you'll spend a lot of time on the beach and boardwalk. But you also may be interested in learning about other events and activities, especially in the event of a rainy day or a bad sunburn. Here, I’ve compiled the best online resources for finding interesting events in your favorite shore towns. Don’t be shy about checking out the goings on in a neighboring town – adventure and exploration only adds to the excitement of the Jersey Shore!
1. Atlantic City – Like New York, AC is a city that never sleeps. Click on this link to access Atlantic City's Calendar. Here you can input the range of dates, location and types of events you are interested in and it will give you a comprehensive list of events. If you select “Regional Events” you will get a list of events happening in other surrounding shore towns. If a day in the casinos is all you are seeking, may lady luck be with you! .jpg)
2. Margate – As the webpage reads, there’s always something going on in Margate! Click this link for Margate's calendar of events. And don’t forget to see Lucy the Elephant if you’re in this seaside town.
3. Ocean City - Ocean City has a lot to boast about. Billed as “America’s Greatest Family Resort”, this town was recently selected as one of the “Top Ten Surf Towns in America” by Surfer Magazine and was featured as one of Travel Channel’s Best Beaches. Remember, OC is a dry town, perfect for families. For bars and nightlife consider one of its neighboring towns – Margate, Somer’s Point or Sea Isle. Just don’t drink and drive.
4. Sea Isle City – As you pass over the bridge from Ocean View, you are greeted by a welcoming sign
on the water tower: “Smile, You’re In Sea Isle”. It’s true, there’s lots to do and enjoy in this land of sand and sun, all guaranteed to make you smile. Click here for more information: Sea Isle City Events.
5. Avalon – Not only just “Cooler By A Mile”, Avalon has a lot going on in additio
n to its beautiful and spacious beaches. For a relaxing workout, consider peddling along Avalon's half mile boardwalk. Avalon's calendar is posted on the official borough website and includes all events in the community.
