Nas is clearly not looking to take a break anytime soon. The Queensbridge rapper who is currently readying the release of his collaborative album with reggae artist/producer Damian "Jr Gong" Marley has given hint to releasing a 10th solo album following the release of Distant Relatives.
Distant Relatives is due for release in August of this year and Nas is already prepared to hit the studio booth to record new tracks for a solo project before Distant Relatives is even released.
Nas' 10th album will be a follow up to his 2008 controversial release Untitled. With the 10th album, Nas is said to have his eye on making this effort a reflection of what he views. In other words, it will be from the perspective of an onlooker, kind of like a third person's view. The prospective album will be released under Def Jam Records. A release date for the project has not yet been determined.
Nas made headlines earlier last month when his divorce proceedings, with estranged wife R&B artist Kelis, were made public via Vibe.com. In court papers filed by Kelis' lawyer, Kelis sited "dissolution of marriage". Kelis who is currently pregnant with the couples first son, has requested child support and as much as $20,000 a month to cover baby supplies in conjunction with additional funds so that she can maintain her high cost lifestyle.
Nas is currently on the Rock The Bells tour along with such acts like Damian Marley, Busta Rhymes, and Raekwon to name a few. Nas is presently promoting his new album with Marley and plans to tour with the reggae artist following the release of Distant Relatives.
