Ghostface raps about the current truth

One artist has opted not to rap about diamonds, jewels, cars and sexy women. A single from Ghostface Killah surfaced on the web today and it is actually a song dedicated to pop star Rihanna and all women who are victims of domestic abuse.

If you haven't heard, Rihanna and Chris Brown were involved in an altercation that left the Bajan songstress beaten and bruised and Chris Brown wanted by the police as well as donning a new title as public enemy number 1. The picture that was taken the night of the incident by the LAPD, later surfaced on the tabloid site TMZ sending shock waves, anger, and disappointment across the country.

Every artists/celebrity alike has had something to say about it, so much so that every time MTV does an interview it has become a routine for them to ask the artists they are interviewing, what their thoughts are on said situation.

Ghostface Killah, who is label mates with Rihanna decided to put together a song that is more so a message to those who have experienced or who are experiencing domestic violence.

I applaud Ghostface for taking a situation such as this and turning it into something that can help benefit the community as a whole. Unfortunately, there is no age minimum or limit to who will become domestic violence victims and a lot of individuals today are secretly going through this struggle.

I also believe that this song should be in reference to men as well who are involved in abusive relationships. Although a good majority of domestic abuse cases are reported by women, men also suffer at the fate of domestic abuse.

Hopefully more Hip Hop artists will use their voices for good and rap about situations that a lot of people who purchase their music go through and know all too well; this is a great way to connect with the fans and to let them know that you understand what they are going through and that they are not alone.

Samantha notes: If you are a victim of domestic violence or know of anyone who is involved in an abusive relationship I urge you to call The National Domestic Abuse hotline 1.800.799.SAFE (7233) or visit their website at ndvh.org
