Vice President Jim Jones, interesting. Photo

Koch Records has just announced that they have assigned the position of Vice President of A&R, to Harlem rapper Jim Jones. Jim Jones will be in charge of signing as well as developing new artist to the labels urban division.

Koch Records is the number 1 independent record label in the U.S.,so this is great news for Jim.

Here is what Jones told allhiphop.com about this new career move,

It feels good to know that the hard work has been recognized by the same people that have helped me get to this point in my career. They recognize that I’m not only an artist but a person that can smell talent and be able to mold a superstar.

Compelling.

I must say that I am a bit shocked. I know from past info that Jim had a close relationship with the label being that he is signed to it; but never did I expect this. Somehow, I can't help but to feel there are some underlining activity going on here but hey that would mean less music from Jim, so kudos! We'll see how this pans out.
