Road Trip: World Series of Poker circuit events

They haven’t even finished the WSOP finale table of 2009; when then
2009-2010 circuit begins again. On October 16, 2009, the circuit kicks off at the
Horseshoe Hammond. This property is located near Chicago, Illinois in Hammond, Indiana.
Shortly thereafter, the circuit moves to
Southern Indiana at another Horseshoe property. Although, the gaming is located on a fixed boat, it is docked at the foot of the Horseshoe hotel. The event officially begins on Friday, October 23; however, there are several satellites that begin earlier in the week. Lines at the beginning of the event tend to be long. Consider calling ahead and pre-registering for your event. Last year’s events included a mix of locals and semi-pro’s from around the county. The card room was recently renovated and is very comfortable. The biggest negative is the lighting; several corners of the room are downright dark. The dealers are very friendly and professional. They do not use a betting line on the table, so you must be careful about forward motion. In addition to the poker room, the Horseshoe offers a full Harrah’s casino. In addition, the Horseshoe Indiana is one of the last places that allow Diamond Club members to eat FREE at the buffet.
The next stop for the WSOP circuit is
Harvey’s Lake Tahoe in November. Although, it is still a little early for ski season, there are a lot of other things to do in the Reno/Tahoe area. Buy-in’s for these events range from $230-$5,150; events include Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Pineapple and H.O.R.S.E.
See you at the tables….
